DO YOU OWN OR RUN A WORKSHOP CENTRE OFFERING COMPLEMENTARY AND/OR ALTERNATIVE THERAPIES ?

If you do, and would like me to offer my workshops in your local area, I would be happy to discuss my availability with you.

I passionately believe that teaching and promoting massage is a wonderful opportunity to share the benefits of nurturing touch with as many people as possible in the world, and then they can in turn share that gift with others. From these simple beginnings global healing can occur, and can reach the places it is most needed in any country in the world.

Please contact me by email, I would love to hear from you.

A BASIC INTRODUCTION TO HOLISTIC MASSAGE WORKSHOPS

I offer this gentle, basic introduction to the Holistic Massage techniques in Scotland, Japan, and in various European countries.

I have a wide range of trainings in bodywork, including Aromatherapy, Remedial, Sports, Kinesiology, Swedish and Esalen-type methods, and have travelled to Japan for the last 7 years at the invitation of the Japanese Holistic Medicine Society to teach both Introductory and Advanced seminars in holistic techniques .

Holistic Massage acknowledges that it is not only the physical body which benefits from regular massage, but equally important to our wellbeing are the emotional and spiritual "bodies" , which may be unseen but are also deserving of "tender loving care". The holistic method seeks to use caring and sensitive touch, together with energetic awareness to nurture on all these levels. The massage style is very relaxing without being physically strenuous, but at the same time will often have profound effects on healing emotional wounds, and inspiring the spirit.

This workshop is designed for those with little or no previous experience in massage, but will also include elements of interest to those who have been involved previously in the field of massage or energy work, and who want to know more about the holistic approach. It is an ideal introduction for those who want to learn the basics of nurturing and relaxing touch to share with friends and loved ones . The intention for the workshop is to have fun together and learn some simple massage techniques in a supportive environment.

Topics covered will include...

- Basic strokes and overview of massage styles

- Aromatherapy oils used in Holistic Massage with their properties

- Role of massage in pain prevention and relief

- Benefits nurturing touch to healthy bodies, emotions, and spirit

- Introduction to the "chakra" system and its relevance in holistic massage.

ADVANCED TECHNIQUES IN HOLISTIC MASSAGE

This course is intended for those who have already attended the "Introduction To Holistic Massage" workshop, although exemption from that introductory course would be considered for experienced bodyworkers. However, the workshop is not only for practising therapists, but is for anyone who wants to give nurturing touch to friends and loved ones.

The workshop is designed to explore in more depth the knowledge gained in the first course , and you'll learn up to 15 or more advanced practical moves to incorporate into the basic massage routine as previously taught at introductory level. This provides an even more fulfilling and relaxing experience for the client. Other topics covered will include...

- How muscles work together in balanced harmony in the body ( perhaps with very simple physiology , structure and function )

- Some simple anatomy, skeletal structures, and names of major muscles in each region - accompanied by clear coloured diagrams for each person to keep.

- Client care - how to "interview" professionally before a session. How to support with sensitivity and compassion if clients experience changes in body energy during a session.

- Posture analysis and observation methods - giving clues to potential body problems

- The concept of "3 realms healthcare " to keep your own body healthy with self care and self respect, including further information about healing of the physical body.
